Piqua high school confirms bedbugs

Piqua High School is confirming the report of bedbugs. The school has taken precautions to prevent a massive outbreak of bedbugs. How many students have actually taken bedbugs home with them, and actually their homes also are going to have to be treated.


Piqua High School has identified two separate yet individual student cases of bed bugs, Principal Anthony Lyons said in letter sent to parents this afternoon.
Piqua City Schools is following its standard practices and policies related to bedbugs along with working with the city Health Department.
These tools were developed through the schools partnership with the Ohio Department of Health and include cleaning all areas of the school on a regular basis and paying additional attention to any area where a bug has been seen.
Lyons, in the letter, said that “while this is not an outbreak or infestation, we take these matters seriously and are taking every possible precaution to ensure a safe and clean learning environment for our students, staff and community.
