The following story out of the Bellefontaine Ohio about a mother who confess killing her three sons. This happened over 13 month. Currently the mother is in the the county jail and Logan County of Ohio. Truly don't understand how someone can do this to their own child.
Brittany Pilkington, the Bellefontaine mother police said has confessed to killing her three sons during a period of 13 months, is in custody.
Bellefontaine police Chief Brandon Standley said Pilkington has been charged with three counts of murder and has been taken to the Logan County Jail. She is in her early 20s.
Standley told reporters this afternoon that a police investigation of Pilkington began after the death of 3-month-old Noah Pilkington earlier this morning. Police were dispatched to the woman’s address, in the 800 block of East Sandusky Avenue, just after 3 a.m. on a call from her to 911 reporting that her son was not breathing.

Police are involved in a standoff at the Super 8 Vandalia/Dayton International Airport in the 500 block of East National Road.
We’re trying to gathering details about what led to the situation, which has police officers with their weapons drawn, some crouching behind vehicles.
We’ve learned so far that police went to the hotel as part of an investigation for Moraine police. Word of the standoff began going public just after 8 p.m.

Police in Germany arrested two suspects in a pre-dawn raid Tuesday after the body of a wealthy businessman's daughter – who was kidnapped last week and held at $1.3 million ransom – was found the night before, according to media reports.
The 17-year-old girl, identified only as Anneli-Marie R., vanished August 13 in Meissen while she was walking her dog.

Samy Kamkar, the white hat hacker who discovered a security hole in GM’s OnStar app a couple of weeks ago that he could use to remotely track, unlock and start practically any car using the system, has found the same issue in apps from four other brands, Wired reports.
Kamkar developed a $100 device he calls OwnStar that wirelessly intercepts a car owner’s digital credentials when they use an app tied to the vehicle’s telematics system, allowing him to log on and control whatever remote functions are available via the app. OnStar fixed the issue after learning about it, but Kamkar now says other makes are at risk

At least 40 migrants died in the hold of an overcrowded boat while trying to cross the Mediterranean, Italy’s navy said Saturday. A rescue operation was underway to try and save hundreds of others on board the vessel, it said. Kayla Mueller, an American aid worker who died in February while being held by the Islamic State, was repeatedly raped during captivity by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the terror group's leader, according to counter-terrorism officials and Mueller's family.
The accounts of Mueller's ordeal were first reported by British newspaper The Independent and later confirmed by her family to the Associated Press and ABC News.

A 90-year-old Urbana man is missing after he was last seen leaving a Marysville golf course early this afternoon.
Robert Carmazzi was driving his 2012 gray Mercedes with vanity Ohio license plate “Mazzi.” He left the golf course around 1:45 p.m. but didn’t return home after the outing, according to Urbana Police Chief Matt D. Lingrell.
Anyone who knows Carmazzi’s whereabouts or spots his car is urged to call the Urbana Police Division at 937-652-4350 or the nearest law enforcement agency

The U.S. Marshal’s SOFAST arrested 20-year-old Andrew Liles for multiple charges of rape and gross sexual imposition.
The arrest happened early Thursday in Dayton.
A Shelby County grand jury indicted Liles on 6 counts of Rape, 2 counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, and 2 counts of Corrupting a Minor with Drugs. The charges stem from an incident reported in August of 2015.

For the fifth straight year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley has taken fundraising to a new level.Today the organization held its annual ‘Over the Edge’ fundraiser, where people rappel down the KeyBank Tower, raising money and awareness for area kids in need of mentors.Ninety people rappelled down the Tower today, raising nearly $140,000 for kids in the Greater Miami Valley to be matched with someone they can look up to.“I just love it to death,” said Tommy Routsong.Interesting choice of words from funeral home owner and dedicated supporter after his third time rappelling down the 347 foot tall KeyBank Tower.“Plus it’s so great for the kids. The Dayton Police Department says it will be aggressively looking for traffic violators this weekend.Police will conduct a Safe Communities Through Aggressive Traffic Enforcement initiative from August 14 through August 16.SCATE works to decrease the number of OVI related traffic fatalities and injuries in the city, which are up nearly 100 percent from the same time last year.The initiative uses high-visibility enforcement, specialized computer mapping and public relations to reduce crash numbers, but also seize drugs and capture fugitives.

The Ohio State Patrol will be putting emphasis on school bus routes and paying special attention to traffic patterns in school bus zones with the start of a new academic year.
According to the state patrol, between 2012 and last year, more than 4,000 Ohio drivers were convicted of driving past a stopped bus while it was loading or unloading children.
Kettering mom Amanda Peterson said she saw that happen twice this week at her daughter’s bus stop.

The Louisville Bats have penciled in Michael Lorenzen, who spent most of 2015 with the Cincinnati Reds after starting at Triple-A, to make a start Sunday at Louisville Slugger Field.
Lorenzen, struggling in the majors, was replaced in the big-league rotation by John Lamb, a left acquired last month in the Johnny Cueto trade with the Kansas City Royals. Lamb was to make his major-league debut Friday for the Reds against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Dayton History, the private, non-profit organization that operates Carillon Park, on Friday purchased the nearby Neil’s Heritage House property, at South Dixie Drive and Schantz Avenue, for just under $700,000.
Brady Kress, president and CEO of Dayton History, said the organization has “no plans to demolish” the three-story, 24,000-square-foot restaurant and banquet center at 2323 W. Schantz Ave.
The purchased property also includes a large parking lot and an adjacent residential duplex.

So what are your thoughts of the city of Dayton closing down a local hookah establishment? I think the city of Dayton should focus on crime instead of shutting down businesses that create jobs, because the city of Dayton this seems like as losing jobs left and right. Give me your thoughts.
The City of Dayton is shutting down a local hookah establishment. 2 NEWS’ Jordan Bowen spoke to the manager of Hookah Star and Smoke Shop, and he told him he plans to appeal the city’s decision to shut him down.The store was given a cease of occupancy order yesterday from the City of Dayton, but remained open. Police then showed up last night and forced customers to leave and the owner to close.The shop has is now closed and the manager told me today he doesn’t plan to re-open anytime soon.He says he plans appeal to the city’s order, which deems the hookah bar a ‘night club’, which would require them  to have a specificpermit.“ Credits: City forces hookah bar to close; manager plans to appeal decision
So are you happy that the city of Dayton shows a veteran to be the assistant chief of police, instead of hiring somebody from the outside. Sometimes fresh blood is healthy, but also at the same time experience does say a lot to keep some stability and experience. Hopefully major Ecton will do a excellent job for the city of Dayton.
Maj. Mark Ecton has been appointed assistant chief of the Dayton Police Department and will start his new role Aug. 17, the city said in a prepared statement released late Wednesday afternoon.
Ecton replaces Col. Robert Chabali, who retired earlier this year after serving more than 35 years.
Ecton, a lifelong resident of Dayton, is a 29-year veteran of the police department, joining in September 1987. He began his career as a patrol officer in the West Patrol Operations Division, serving in the same neighborhood where he went to school and grew up.

Area employers in Dayton are standing up to marijuana, forming the Dayton Regional Employers Against Marijuana (DREAM) Coalition. The group will represent local business owners' concerns that could become reality if marijuana is legalized in Ohio.

The group, Responsible Ohio, is working toward a constitutional amendment to legalize recreational and medical use of marijuana. The DREAM Coalition is a grassroots movement to stop the proposed amendment. Group members said marijuana hurts local business productivity, safety and will increase hiring costs.

"Many of our companies today operate on pennies on the dollar," said Kevin Burch, President of Jet Express, Inc. Burch is the chair of the DREAM Coalition. "The perception and the image that's important to so many of us in our businesses today will be jeopardized."

According to a survey conducted by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce in June 2015, more than 68 percent of local businesses said they are not in favor of the amendment as proposed.

A Facebook post from a Miamisburg resident is getting national attention after a picture was posted showing a dog with its mouth duct-taped shut.2 NEWS’ Jordan Bowen talked to the dog owner who admitted it happened and now Montgomery County is investigating.He could face animal cruelty or neglect charges. A neighbor in Miamisburg called 911 early Monday morning to report that two dogs’ mouths were taped shut.Police told the owner to remove the tape.  Since then, animal control has been to the house daily to check on the dogs.The dog owner tells 2 NEWS he taped their mouths shut because his neighbors threatened to kill the animals if they didn’t stop barking.“I didn’t know I was doing something wrong,” said Doug McCoy, dog owner.  “I didn’t think I was doing anything cruel. Four Tennessee high school student-athletes were suspended for a year following an investigation into an alleged hazing incident at a football camp.According to Assistant Director of Schools and Director of Discipline and Attendance Jim Murphy, the students, all football players at David Crockett High School, were suspended and must attend an alternative school.The suspension for the four students also means they cannot take part in any student activities or be on any school campus in Washington County. Credits: Tennessee HS football players accused of hazing

Fuyao Glass America Inc. and the Montgomery County office of Ohio Means Jobs are launching a new push for qualified Fuyao job applicants.
Fuyao’s Moraine glass fabrication plant has just over 400 employees today and will have more than 1,500 employees when it’s full operational, said Tom Thompsen, Fuyao Glass America human resources manager.
The plant is expected to be world’s largest standalone auto glass plant when it is fully staffed, said John Gauthier, Fuyao Glass America president.
But more employees are needed to install equipment and production lines, to master those lines and then to operate them, both men said.

Two unidentified males robbed the Dragon City Restaurant, 3031 N. Gettysburg Ave., at gunpoint around dinnertime Tuesday.
The owner told police the two robbers entered the restaurant shortly before 6 p.m., one pointed a gun at her head and the other pointed a gun at her 14-year-old son, who was standing by the register, according to the Dayton police report.
The owner told officers they demanded she open the door to get behind the counter, but she was too scarred and was unable to do it, according to the report.

   These men that robbed the Dragon city restaurant need to be found and held accountable to the highest extent of the law. City of Dayton really needs to get a handle crime, and people need to be held to the highest extent of the law, and be put in prison for some time.

A man from Springfield, Ohio has been arrested for his seventh driving under the influence charge. Some people never going to learn and I believe the laws in Ohio need to change if people are ever going to stop drinking and driving. Some people never learn and it appears that this man hasn't learned his lesson. I Commend the Ohio State control for getting this man off the streets for at least a little bit and he won't have the opportunity to hurt anybody.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has arrested a man for his 7th OVI offense.According to troopers, Steven G. Whitehurst was arrested after 2 a.m. Saturday morning after he was stopped on North Limestone Street near Madison Avenue.Officials said Whitehurst has six prior OVI convictions.Whitehurst is set to appear in Clark County Municipal Court on August 13.

The Transportation Security Administration has opened an office in southwestern Ohio in an effort to speed up check-ins at the Dayton International Airport.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/1MKl86g) reports the TSA's office opened in downtown Dayton last Monday as part of a program to expedite check-ins for U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents.
Approved passengers will be able to leave on shoes, light outerwear and belt when checking in for flights. They'll also be able to keep laptops in cases and keep permitted gels and liquids.
Applicants must pre-enroll online and complete enrollment at the office.

A driver trying to flee police this morning struck power lines, leading to outages in the area.
Union City, Indiana, police attempted to stop a car driven by 41-year-old Paul Brown of Union City, Ohio, around 5:45 a.m., but he did not stop, police said.
Officer Lance Mock pursued the driver through Union City. At one point, Brown’s Dodge Dynasty struck a guide wire near the Union City Jr./Sr. High School, which caused temporary power outages. The pursuit ended in the 300 block of West Deerfield Road, police said.
