Dayton Ohio News August 8,2015

A man from Springfield, Ohio has been arrested for his seventh driving under the influence charge. Some people never going to learn and I believe the laws in Ohio need to change if people are ever going to stop drinking and driving. Some people never learn and it appears that this man hasn't learned his lesson. I Commend the Ohio State control for getting this man off the streets for at least a little bit and he won't have the opportunity to hurt anybody.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has arrested a man for his 7th OVI offense.According to troopers, Steven G. Whitehurst was arrested after 2 a.m. Saturday morning after he was stopped on North Limestone Street near Madison Avenue.Officials said Whitehurst has six prior OVI convictions.Whitehurst is set to appear in Clark County Municipal Court on August 13.

The Transportation Security Administration has opened an office in southwestern Ohio in an effort to speed up check-ins at the Dayton International Airport.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/1MKl86g) reports the TSA's office opened in downtown Dayton last Monday as part of a program to expedite check-ins for U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents.
Approved passengers will be able to leave on shoes, light outerwear and belt when checking in for flights. They'll also be able to keep laptops in cases and keep permitted gels and liquids.
Applicants must pre-enroll online and complete enrollment at the office.

A driver trying to flee police this morning struck power lines, leading to outages in the area.
Union City, Indiana, police attempted to stop a car driven by 41-year-old Paul Brown of Union City, Ohio, around 5:45 a.m., but he did not stop, police said.
Officer Lance Mock pursued the driver through Union City. At one point, Brown’s Dodge Dynasty struck a guide wire near the Union City Jr./Sr. High School, which caused temporary power outages. The pursuit ended in the 300 block of West Deerfield Road, police said.
