Dayton Ohio grand jury declines to indict 2Montgomery County deputies

Donate Martins Death has been ruled justified by Montgomery County grand jury. The grand jury in Dayton Ohio declined to indict the two Montgomery County deputies that were involved in this deadly shooting. It appears now that Martin's family is not happy and I'm sure there's going to be some type of lawsuit. I truly understand that the family is devastated, however they need to understand that Mr. Martin did not abide by the Montgomery County deputies commands. And now it appears that the NAACP is going to get involved in this case.

Jurors say the two deputies acted in self-defense when they shot and killed 34-year-old Dontae Martin. We spoke with officials and also the family’s attorney moments before the decision came down. What started off as a crash investigation ended in a deadly shooting back in July, which killed 34-year-old Dontae Martin. Martin’s family had been hoping for an indictment of the two officers involved. 2 NEWS spoke with the family’s attorney Michael Wright moments before the decision came down.“It’s very difficult for the family. They are still trying to understand why he was killed that evening.”Police say it was because they could see Martin pointing a gun at them through his car window. And when officers asked him to put down his weapon, he did not respond–that’s when deputies fired. But, the family says that’s not what happen.“They don’t understand the reasoning behind the officers having to kill Dontae,” Wright said. “Based on the type of person he is. Based on the type of father that he was, the son, the brother.”Toxicology reports show Martin had an alcohol level of .388. That’s more than 4 times the legal limit.“He was very intoxicated,” Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer said. “He did crash his car and we went there to help him. We have 5 witnesses who say they heard officers tell him to drop the gun. Credits: Dayton NAACP reacts to jury’s decision in Dontae Martin case

I am sure that we haven't heard the last of this deadly shooting. And I am sure that race is going to be brought up and we truly need to move away from the race issue. People need to be held accountable for their actions and truly it's tragic that somebody had to die because they would not listen to the officers commands. The things that are happening in Dayton Ohio truly are bothered me like it never has before. What are your thoughts on the situation regarding Mr. Martin's death?
